Giant Squid

North Kansas City Mo.

Found a guy flying a giant squid kite and I am having a little fun playing with it. There wasn't enough wind for it to really get airborne.

Cool experiment Paul. Keep at it, especially if it's fun!

I like it like this, looks cool. And as you say a fun way to learn new techniques. Regards, -Najinsky

Thanks for the comments, the drop shadow is what gives it the separation to create the 3D look without it, it looks flat and stuck on.

I can lower the level of shadowing or drop it completely on the entire image but not (to my knowledge) eliminate it from just the OOB part of the image. I may experiment with more masking to see if that's possible in the future because I didn't even save the PSD file on this since I was just playing around. I do that quite often for learning.

well you got the kite partly up in this image. i've always loved images like this, but it takes work to get it just right. maybe if you get rid of the shadow around the protruding part of the kite it would help, or at least drop the shadow in a more realistic way. shu

I would rather see the full picture, without all of these distractions.
