Yes there was some slight Tonemapping applied to bring out the detail. Though I have the RAW file of this particular shot I used the JPG for the edit. I've tried to see how this looks in b/w but reverted to the color version. Perhaps another try is in order. I've posted the full uncropped and mostly un-edited in pending. (only with a cool filter applied as the filter warms the shot too much).
Excellent composition and exposure. Plenty of objects to catch the eye, led by the posts. Did you use any tone mapping in the pp?
I'd be interested to see it in b&w as well.
