Flowers & Light

Acworth, GA

Just one of those images that seem to fit this challenge when I wasn't even aware of what this challenge even was.

Everything was pretty small in this shot.

Nice composition and you managed capturing the light very well. -Gerald

Thanks!

Definitely an improvement. The pedals of the two flowers stand out more clearly.

I adjusted the contrast just a bit. I didn't want to adjust it too much because any adjustments took away the darkness of the lamp. I think this looks pretty good and now you can see the pedals a lot better as well.

To my eye, the “principal subject” includes the lamp and the two flowers to the left. Everything else is a blurred background that sets the subject apart. So it works. I am thinking that a “shadows and highlights” adjustment might be helpful, perhaps along with a contrast adjustment, as the two flowers are almost too bright.
