Very dynamic Nico, I particularly like the misty Table Mountain shot... beautiful.

Even with that great camera/lens combo it is asking too much in such light without a tripod as you are obviously aware, so the detail suffers a little especially having to size down from 6 X 21MPixels to 200K. Love to see this at full res.

In playing with shots for this challenge I found difficulty in maintaining focus especially when sky shots were involved and correspondingly controlling the exposure for colour consistency. I expect that having the ability to use the hi-res screen and live view might make the job a little easier?

Having said all that, this is still a terrific panorama Nico, well done ~ Regards Bob

Sometimes, I think the idea of HDR offers more than is generally realized.

In regards to your comment Nico, about brightening up things a bit, and I'd imagine that it would be at the expense of that gorgeous perfect sky and the nearly mystical cloud creep over the mountain, I'm not 100% certain, but I'd leave it as it is. - Kelly

Thanks for the kind and gracious comments.

I did not have a tripod with me, unfortunately, so the focus in the photograph was rather "soft" (read: the operating could not keep the camera still enough). Even in the "original" size the poor underlying quality becomes visible already; at larger sizes it becomes almost embarrassing.

To add to the self-criticism: the photograph looks and feels underexposed to me, as if a full stop or so more light would have helped. Your comments?

Traveller, now that the World Cup is over, we dare again publish photographs of South Africa without fearing that the trademarks police would be all over us! :-)

Kind regards

Nico

Oh, this is so absolutely Super....and yet, for commercial purposes, I would think that cropping out the right third of the frame might be advisable. (just an opinion...next to your's Nico, my opinion counts for very little{but it is my opinion})

Best Wishes, Traveller
