Dylan Howard is a photographer and videographer who will be going to New York Film Academy in Los Angeles Hollywood to learn filmmaking. The set up for the single 96-second exposure displayed on the monitor was first of Dylan (on the right) under a small soft box attached to the 580EX, handheld and manually fired; power setting 1/2 + 0.7, then a pop of the 580 wearing a homemade snoot at full power on his movie camera, and then the last flash was on Dylan standing behind his camera at near point blank range at 1/32 + 0.3 with the flash concealed behind his camera. The 40D was triggered wirelessly and set to bulb until the last pop. Surprisingly, only two takes were needed once we had experimented with flash strentghs. |
