Thanks Nico and Michael, patience is a virtue in cases like this.
Michael, I was caught in Elizabeth Street on my bike when the storm unleashed all its fury. In minutes the entire street was a raging torrent and leaves stripped from the trees washed and dammed up against my parked bike , water flowing over the engine threatening to push it off the stand.
I had to wait patiently until the torrent subsided enough to unclog the leaves from wheels/engine /exhaust etc. When I finally thought it about time to brave the elements I rode carefully through the torrent that had reduced to a fast flowing shallow river. Smoke emanating from the leaves still stuck and being fried by the exhaust. Twas a little perplexing but one of life's experiences.
Excellent image Bob. Great sky and placement of the jogger.
That was quite a storm. I was at a friend's place with my car parked outside. There was no shelter available, but despite the size of the hailstones, my car wasn't damaged. Another friend's Corolla, parked 5 km away in the middle of the city, is now covered in small dents. Regards, Michael
Nicely done, Sir! It is amazing what the inclusion (or not) of one single element can do to a photograph... either make it or break it. Without the runner, I just don't think this could/would have worked... Great timing and or planning! Compliments.
Thanks Trav and CameraShy09, judging by the smile she gave me as she jogged past assured me that she was totally in control... must be one of those brave souls?
We had the worst storm ever... this last weekend and this is the aftermath! Hail as big as tennis balls, smashed roof tiles, car rear-view mirrors etc.... and flooded my backyard. Took me three days of hard work to move the water/unblock drains and get to see the actual grass once more.
Appreciate your comments, it is good to be able to participate once again. ~ Regards Bob
