There´s a young man´s memorial on my way to suburbia, I pass each day. After five years parents still bring fresh flowers from time to time. A sad reminder indeed.

These roadside memorials are very popular in Oregon. Especially among the first nation -Native American communities.

There are quite a lot of those in the vicinity of where I live ........ every time I pass one it reminds me of how short and unpredictable life can be. A special notice .. Thanks for sharing.

Yes so sad...In our country they find they cause accidents so there is a time period it can be on the road side I think..

I think that these markers are fitting both as a sort of tribute and a warning. People here in the UK leave bunches of flowers at accident sites but I think that there are Bye-Laws preventing anything more permanent in a lot of Counties.

Same here... we have fatality markers on all the popular country roads and one often sees flowers and other tributes placed by the markers.

Very, very sad. Our roads are lined with them. It horrifies me when we go on a 3-5 hour road trip, just how many there are.
