Crust

When the kids were young they used to play a game called 'Trust the Crust'!
Simple: when out walking in fields the challenge was to step on a cow pat -
ie: you had to trust the crust - if your judgement was flawed the penalty was: cleaning your own shoes!

I watched a National Parks ranger do play that game on fresh lava once! The neoprene soles of his boots had little strings hanging off of them when he got to the other side! :)
