Conceived as small, fast and sporting, the first production Aston Martin cars were launched in 1922.

In the background is the Meccano Bike, built in 2013, a one-off design created by the BBC,
with the aim to produce a bike that could travel at least 15 mph (it reached 25 mph downhill),
and could survive the punishing 37 mile Isle of Mann TT course over three days during TT week.
Over 15,000 pieces of standard Meccano (Erector Set) were used in the build, which took 9 weeks to complete.
There are 600 nuts and bolts in each wheel alone.
