One of the earliest British production cars with 4-wheel brakes, a feature that did not become commonplace until the 1920s.
Building on its reputation for high quality, in 1906 the Scottish manufacturer Argyll spent £220,000 (around £13 million today)
on a new factory at Alexandria, near Glasgow. Production remained low, however, and the firm went into liquidation two years later.
The company was revived in a smaller factory, but very few cars were made before production ended in 1928.
