Burg Gutenfels, overlooking the town of Kaub. Also known as Castle Caub. Built in 1220, it was used to provide an impenetrable toll zone for
the Holy Roman Emperor, until Prussia purchased the area in 1866 and ended the toll in 1867. Rebuilt between 1889 and 1892, it is now a hotel.
