Marsalforn – statue of Jesus Christ, Our Saviour’s Hill. This volcano-like hill became of interest around 1901,
when a large wooden cross was erected on its peak. Three years later, when Gozo was consecrated to Christ the Redeemer,
the cross was replaced by a stone statue of Christ, which in turn was replaced in the 1960s. That statue was destroyed
during a thunderstorm and replaced by the current 12m high concrete statue, a smaller copy of the one overlooking Rio de Janeiro.
