I am a fishing boat researcher in Monterey Ca.
Question. I am trying to locate a boat you photographed.
The JOHNNY L somewhere in San Francisco Wharf., can you recall?

Hi Rochelle,
I just read through Outdoor Photographer Magazine and found your picture of Saylorville Lake. It took me awhile then I realize the combination (of Rochelle and Iowa). OP Magazine really made the right choice for choosing your image to represent the beauty of Iowa.

Do you have a book out of your pictures of Des Moines and/or Iowa? Your pictures brings out the best of Iowa. I just moved here from New York City and lived in various big cities until Des Moines. It has been quiet a change, seeing trees instead of tall buildings as views.

Hello Rochelle,

Your photographs are beautiful. I was searching for information about lupine in Northern Minnesota and came across your beautiful photos. Would you share where in MN these bloom? Do they bloom mid-June?

I have been in Iowa since October 2005. I have nicknamed it the "grey" state.... Your photos give me some hope that the colors will reappear.

Rochelle, I stumbled onto your gallery and just by looking at the front thumbnails, I can tell the work inside them is going to be spectacular. I'm adding you to my favorites list so I can check back when I get back home from the weekend.
I just know I'm going to enjoy your gallery :)

Thank you for your kind words, James. Humble gallery? Please, you are too modest! You have a great start on your galleries. I only just started sailing this year, and I absolutely love it. I do dream of sailing the ocean someday, but this inland lake is wonderful to learn on. And the sailor in you might appreciate the fact this lake is a "no wake" lake, so not as many power boats to maneuver around. Best of luck with your photography.
Focus27-Aug-2005 04:27
Bodacious galleries.......they are all beautiful! Thanks for sharing.......I too love to sail, and I too am stuck in an inland lake.......but I still love it! Keep up the beautiful work, and thanks for visiting my humble gallery.

Thank you, Jeff. That was nice of you to say. I always enjoy discovering other Iowans who appreciate what a great state this is. I stopped by your galleries and have to say that for someone who is just beginning efforts in photography, you have a good eye for it. The windmill shots among others are stunning. I also added you to my list of favorites so I can check in and see your views of Iowa.

Take care,

Guest 24-Aug-2005 02:55

Beautiful! As another "displaced then returned" Iowan, I'm impressed at the way you capture the things that I love about this state, and that I hope to capture myself. If I can do so even half as artfully as you, I'll consider my admittedly beginning efforts at photography as a success.

You're added to my list of favorite artists.

Thank you, Steve. I'm glad you enjoyed them. Wow, a fellow Iowan. This is a nice discovery. I also used to live in Ames for about 4 years as a Cyclone. I enjoyed your website and pictures and will have to peruse them more. I can see we have been to some of the same haunts even. Good luck shooting, and this is one of the best times of year for that in Iowa. Rochelle Cardinale

Hi Rochelle,
I will definitely check back to see your shots from out west! I know going through my slides from Wyoming has gotten me thinking about another trip out that way! I look forward to seeing your photographs! Maybe they will be the catalyst to get my tires rolling!
Rochelle Weiss14-Apr-2005 03:29
Thank you for your note, Mindy. It is great to talk to someone who can truly appreciate the Big Horns and the West. Thank you for your note about my galleries. I greatly enjoyed your galleries as well. Your beautiful pictures have definitely made me want to grab my camera and head out west. It also occurred to me I have some older pictures from out West, so please do check back in a few weeks and take a look.

Thanks for your comments on my photographs Rochelle! It's great to hear from someone who knows the Big Horn Mountains so well! Not everyone has been to Shell, Wyoming! A roadtrip out west is always a great adventure! I'm ready for another one myself! ...I have thoroughly enjoyed viewing your spectacular photographs, and will certainly be checking back to see more!
