Castle Rigg by night

What I think, is a better version of last nights post. The aperture is the same on both of the layered images, which means the trails stop the same width, a third exposure was added with the stones only, on this one I painted the rest of the layer in black to prevent the screen layering effecting my sky.

My SLR bit the dust after doing these shots, "Error 99" , the usual web advice of cleaning the contacts has not worked, the camera screeches as soon as the battery makes contact , this is before I even close the battery compartment door.A second battery does the same thing. Either my charger has fried my batteries or things are not looking good for the old 30D. Could be a while before I can get it repaired or replaced too, so this will be the last of my star trails for some time.

Canon EOS 30D
1064s f/5.6 at 17.0mm iso100 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

I like the spookiness of the stones, I really hope that they haven't messed your camera!

Super shot, Error 99 doesn't sound good.

Ooh, this version's good - nice even light on the stones :o)
Shame about the camera - have you tried taking the clock battery out too and leaving it with no batteries for an hour or so - might just give it a 'clean start'...

The noise on the posted version looks much worse than on my PC, must be a compression thing ?
