This is a replica of the original schoolhouse in Calico.
It is said to be haunted: some people claim to have seen a moving ball of red light inside the schoolhouse. Students have also been seen inside and there is a girl of about age 11 who only appears before children and teens and then disappears again.
The town was named for the colorful mountains around it. Here you can see a bit of the color to which they are referring.
