Rainbow Bee-eater, Merops ornatus

This is my "Photo of the week" for week ending 19 May 2011.

Rainbow Bee-eaters are resident breeding birds in Queensland. Their numbers are swelled by southern birds who travel north for the winter. They appear to be creatures of habit and I watched this bird, with a partner, most mornings using the same perches around the grave stones of the local cemetery.
