From Around the World
(12.17.04)

(Day 72) You know, this PAD thing is just great! This morning I got to watch the sunset in New Hampshire, courtesy of our pal Larry Ahern, and at the same time, watch a Virginia sunrise from my window. AND practice that grainy look that Stu so often post in.

Oh the hat! It's my Shady Brady and I wear it A LOT, but in truth... self-portraits.... definitely an area for me to grow in ;)

Great PS work! And it is amazing how our daily does of PaD can take us all over the world.

Interesting, nice and very creative composition. Good idea.

This is really great treatment of the shot - makes it very interesting, but you left enough detail in areas to remain visually compelling. Very nicely done. Gotta work on those SPs, though!

Is that really the view of a swamp that you see out your window? if so... do you canoe there? if so...ooohhh, do I ever envy you!! like the thing you did with Larry's photo.

Another of your very artistic effects, a super view & SP hint.

Very observant Mark! Actually, because of the 2 sec exposure, Larry's image was blown in this version. I cropped it out of a second version taken with proper exposure for the monitor. This kept Larry's image undoctored which is as I wanted it. Thanks Mark. -- LC

It appears you didn't apply the effect to the actual image you're viewing. If that's the case then excellent forethought. Very nice.

Way to go L.C.! Your PS work here is excellent, and this must qualify for a Friday SP, although you didn't so identify it.
Little concerned about your wearing a hat inside, but I'm certainly not the fashion police ;-).
Regarding the feeling of being connected to the world ... I totally agree.

Yes, we tend to forget to think about it sometimes but I agree, it's a wonderful thing, this internet, this PBase. Very nice treatment here. And is that your view?? OMG...

Wonderful concept and composition. It's true how this resource provides us not only with outstanding art but images world-wide!
Stu17-Dec-2004 16:18
Very nicely done. I'm envious of the view you have from your computer... how do you get any work done? I would not be able to concentrate on anything on the monitor! I'm very flattered that you have mentioned me... Thank you: high praise indeed coming from you.
