Just as the artists who frescoed ceilings in many of the Vatican corridors, (previous image), other artists spent untold numbers of years
on their hands and knees laying the millions of mosaics on the floors in some of the galleries, They too, need a little appreciation.
So when you are in the Vatican, look down and enjoy some of the artistry you are walking on, like the quadriga of horses seen here
and that are being walked on daily by thousands of visitors every day.
