Notre Dame - View from the Rear jpg

I"ve always loved the view of Notre Dame from the back and from the side where the flying butteresses can be seen.
Buttresses were developed in the construction of Gothic churches to accommodate the high groin vaulted ceilings
and use of large areas of stained glass.
By contrast, Romanesque churches have lower ceilings, little glass and very thick walls to support the sturcture.

What a pity you used such a high ISO setting for this brightly-lit subject. 100 would have produced a better quality result, I am sure.
