When we were in Florence 3 years ago, the entire North wall of Sta. Croce's nave was under restoration
with massive scaffolding covering the works of art and tombs.
Now the work has progressed to the South wall, (seen here) and the choir (seen in another image).

It is disappointing to come to Sta. Croce to study the works of art and have them "in restauro", but at the same time,
it is wonderful to see these treasures being cared for, restored and conserved for the next generations to study.
