Marilyn Busselle

I have been in Texas since 1971 and have ventured into many areas of employment during the past 32 years.
I have been in banking, real estate, insurance and then I worked for several years for Sun Exploration and Production Corporation until 1985 .

In February, 1984 I met David. We married March of the same year and have just celebrated our 19th anniversary. He has just retired from Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad after 38 years, ending his career with 19 years as a Trainmaster (supervisor).

I have two daughters from my first marriage. Tiffany is 36 with one son, Brandon who is 14 years old. She is Transportation Manager, DC for Auto Zone in Lafayette, Louisiana. Heather is 34 with two sons, Jared, 10 and Jaden, 5 years old. She graduated from Texas A&M, but is a stay-at-home mom at present.

Animal rescue keeps us busy these days . David & I have been involved in the rescue of mainly dogs and cats for about 14 years now, and foster the homeless and/or expectant cats and dogs. Our group holds adoptions at the local Petsmarts and Petcos. I have always had a soft heart for the little critters, and have fostered squirrels, bunnies and yes, even a couple of possum! Saving a dog or cat from euthanasia and finding a loving home for the animal leaves us with a wonderful feeling.

At present, our goal is to sell our house here in Texas and move to the vicinity of Harrison, Arkansas. Would love to live in that area and enjoy "the four seasons" again!

Really looking forward to another CHS63 Reunion. Haven't missed a one yet, and don't plan to miss the BIG 40!

See you soon!

UPDATE JULY '07

David and I are no longer living in Texas. We moved 7-1-05 to Mountain View, AR.. We have a beautiful home on three acres atop a mountain ridge, on a street named "Country Charm", which describes our life here. The people are wonderful, the scenery is breathtaking, as each season has it's own magnificent presentation for us to enjoy. I am finally "home" after leaving Memphis in 1971 for Texas. Texas was good to me, but it just wasn't "home" and moving back to Memphis just wasn't an option for us.

Our little town of 2,989 is known as the Folk Music Capital of the World. People from all over the world visit this community to enjoy its music and history. We stay busy, attending many of the various entertainment facilities here, as well as a lot of dancing (my word for exercise) and just going to the Court Square in the evenings to listen to the pickers and singers. We always run into someone we know and there is always fellowship with friends. Some of the questions one is asked is "Where are you from?" and "What do you play?" If you aren't a native, then you will always be from "OFF"

Remember the song, "The Battle Of New Orleans"? It was popular one of our high school summers? Well, Jimmy Driftwood, a Mountain View native wrote that song, and among others, "The Tennessee Stud". His success was instrumental in getting some modern conveniences to his little home town, like pave roads! We have several Bed & Breakfasts, many RV parks and a few motels, but no McDonald's. So if you like good old country music, trout fishing, or just the sound of nature, Mountain View has it all.

Well, this brings my life up to date. Not too much longer til we meet at the Reunion!!!!
