Cameras & Co

La technologie des appareils photographiques est une longue passion qui a guidé mes études, ma vie professionnelle et mes rêves.

Ma collection est triée chronologiquement d'après la date de fabrication de chaque appareil.

Tous les appareils identifiés avec un astérisque ont été utilisés et conservés par mes proches ou par moi-même : mon grand-père, mon père, mes oncles ou mon fils (identifiés par *).

D'autres appareils m'ont été donnés en cadeau (identifiés par ©) par mes amis à qui je réitère mes plus sincères remerciements.

A de très rares exceptions près tous les appareils présentés sont en état de marche et en général, comme vous pouvez vous en rendre compte, en excellent état cosmétique.

Ceci grâce souvent à l'intervention de spécialistes, devenus entre temps des amis.

J'ai mis fin à ma "collectionnite aigüe" après l'acquisition de mon appareil Compass, tout en acceptant bien entendu les cadeaux de mes amis ou enfants...

I enjoyed watching this Gallery. Great various collection and all in a good shape as far as I can see. Last week I got a Rietzschel Clack for my (much smaller) collection. You can see it in my galleries. I also see some camera's in your collection which I also have in mine. The Hasselblad is a nice one ! The old ones form about 1900-1920 I like the most ! A truly magnificent collection of cameras and in pristine condition. There are some missing that I have owned in the past, and some I still own. A TLR Flexaret 6x6, Voigtlander Brilliant 6x6, Vito 2 a bellows 35mm before Vito B, Voigtlander Bessa II 6x9 and I still have a grey Rolleiflex not sure which model, but it's not a "baby" with a Tessa f3.5 lens, Oh and the Kodak "Instant camera" similar to Polaroid's..a Bronica ECTL with 3x Nikkor lenses and Nikon F90X, now I guess like most people these days have gone digital with a Nikon D5000. Those were the days when you could process and enlarge your own and have fun doing it. I was surprised to see your Vitessa. I have one too..Very ingenious design for the time. The Germans knew how to make cameras

Bravo pour cette collection magnifique, qui me permet de découvrir des boitiers extraordinaires qui m'étaient jusqu'alors complètement inconnu. Some interesting words from Sven. My experience is that there are quite a few "digi-graphers" who are also longing for the experience of film again (or for the first time). I think they will stay "digi-graphers", but expand their artistic emotions by using film and alternative processes. :-) As for your collection and presentation. Superb. !! Maybe, it is time to start a digital camera collection. Some of the early models, like Sony Mavica with 3.5" disc, are being thrown out.

Good collection. Bravo, Andre! I have now a small collection of cameras, they are throwing them away now, and going digital, so I can afford to indulge myself! I do have a digital Minolta Dimage 7i, but it stopped working. It all functions bar there being a picture! Costs more to repair than a new one. Never again. As long as film is available I'm using my old cameras and scanning-in the negs. I'm now collecting the battery-operated 'consumer' cameras of around the 80's, average price 5 bucks! Some of them are actually rather good, and they are small and light, fit in a jacket pocket. Accesseries are harder to find, cases, lightmeters, flashes, but I buy these when I can. A flash opens-up enormous photographic possibilities and together with a case trebles the value of the camera (not that I care about the latter). What we need is a major manufacturer to market an ecological home-developing unit for negatives - say the size of a laser printer, or all-in-one? - for the market for film to bloom again. For film is still FAR superior to digital, especially in the consumer market, and always will be. Better digital means better computing power, means better batteries and faster RAM modules - all this costs money, BIG money. No consumer is going to pay that sort of money. I think consumer-digital has reached the end of the line, performance-wise, price-wise. Opening the market for film again?

Vous semblez envier mon équipement pour photographier vos appareils, mais sincèrement je ne vois pas ce que vous pourriez faire de mieux.Vos clichés me paraissent parfait avec un éclairage homogène et surtout sans reflets. Thank you very much for your comments. I do not write very well English, but I will try to explain my technique, which is very easy to apply, but take time: each picture is shot under 2 spots (weatherproof outdoor garden lights - very cheap) placed on both sides of a translucent plastic cone to regularly diffuse the light. The camera is placed inside the cone, on a white paper (I set the white balance on this paper!). The camera is placed above... After I use PhotoShop CS and I erase all parts of the picture outside the camera body. I set the diameter of the eraser tool, smaller and smaller until I am near the camera body form, since Ø 100 px to Ø 3 px (for the details!). With the gum tool, I place the first point in place, then go to the next place, maintaining the majuscule key of my keyboard (PowerMac), until no more background has disappeared. I hope my explanation is helpful. Regards.
