This dazzling golden statue is a monument of Tunisia's first President. Bourguiba is considered the father of modern Tunisia because it was he who laid the legal and political framework that he envisioned would lead Tunisia into a brighter, greener future. Although represented here as a young scholar, ironically, a school was demolished to make way for this monument!
