A "T" junction on the canal, all the boats moored for the winter.
Some of these canals date back to the 1700's when they were "Working Canals" for the transporting of goods. The bridges gave access to farmers who had fields either side of the canal and also allowed the horses that originally pulled the barges/narrow boats to cross the canal if required.
