The Texas Renaissance Festival. It's been called the Disneyland of Renaissance Festivals. Characters seem to effortlessly wander in and out of many periods from the past. Where anyone can transform into whatever type of character or creature that they can imagine. I have added some of my favorite shots and characters from years past. Many of these wonderful characters are no longer at the festival, but they are very much a part of its history. Some I shot many times over a period of years. Others I only shot once. This was a labor of love for the most colorful festival I have ever been to and its many participants. Over the years that I have photographed the Festival, I won 1st place twice in the photo contest and 2nd place once, had three or more shots in the Houston Post, had a shot on the cover of the program and many inside, had the cover photo on the brochure for the Texas Renaissance Festival, one in a calender, one in a book, and had several converted to line art and used in a coloring book and a deck of cards.
