Poke Sallet is eaten in the South like spinach or turnip greens, but it has a strong flavor that some people don't like. My mother cuts the stalks up and fries them, but I only like the boiled leaves in early spring. This plant got caught in the sprinkler at the edge of my yard. I let it grow, and the birds eat the berries when they're plump and deep purple.
