Only birds with excepional long tails are called "Paradise" and in breeding season the male gets a beautiful long tail.
I wanted to picture this Paradise bird in natural light. Using flash is not my style. However there wasn't much ligth available and a long exposure was needed, which requires a special technique. Using remote shutter I must first lock the tripod on the bird. Then I use mirror lockup to raise the mirror and wait (holding my breath) for the bird to take a good pose. Then I snap the picture. It turned out to be very difficult to nail a sharp one. This species is not still for long, always seems to move some part of the body.
Anyway I'm happy with this 1/10s exposure, though not perfectly sharp.
