201 - Greater Racket-tailed Drongo

Bang Pra Non-hunting area, 100 km SE of Bangkok

I've been trying to picture this specie for some time.
At Bang Pra, about 1.5 hour SE of Bangkok, they are very common.

Difficult to exposure. This shot is taken under the trees with the sun in the clouds, which brings out the glossy look, but doesn't leave much shutter speed.

Where I live in Thailand, on the island of Koh Samui in the Lamai area I have seen many pairs relatively up close, 20 meters or so. They have amazing call song quite a range of sounds and of course a beautiful pair of long tail feathers. Good to be able to identify the species finally.
