he's been given over the years, Leonard applies coat
over coat over coat until the consistency achieves the hardness
of concrete or the soft bounce of dried tar.

Leonard's mountain was once accused of being a "toxic nightmare"
after hazardous waste experts took core samples around the site
but authorities backed off after Leonard had his own soil tests done
and the L.A .Times ran several stories about the site and it's
artistic merits.
