Unknown Hawk

Applegate Area, Southern Oregon

Hubby had to work last sunday so my friend and I went for a drive. We passed this hawk on the fence post right beside the road....drove down a ways and found a place to turn around...was pretty sure he would have flown away by the time we got back...Luck was with us...he was still there. Out of the 60 pictures I took of him...might need to look again, this one seemed to be the best. Guess that is how photography goes, for every good one you take there are 100 not so good ones... :0)

Nice pic - looks like a Red-shouldered Hawk to me.

You are right. But when you see something like this one you must be happy with the results
