Evergreen azaleas are really "persistent-leaved" azaleas, growing a set of spring leaves which are dropped in the fall, and a set of summer leaves which persist through the winter. Their leaves typically have long hairs along the underside midrib, and are typically thinner than "small-leaf" rhododendrons. There are many thousands of named hybrid varieties of evergreen azaleas, derived from the evergreen species native primarily to Japan and China.

Most evergreen azaleas are cold-hardy within Zones 6 to 10 (-10°F to 30°F), with some able to grow outside either end of that range. You can find much more information about azaleas at the Azalea Society of America website at www.azaleas.org.

Your utage no hana picture leaves a lot to be desired as the orange on a mature plant seems to produce flowers with more than just a blush.

Regarding your image of 'Cinderella', there should be so much color that it appears to be white stripes on a red background.... the opposite of 'Satrap' which is red stripes on a white background. Both 'Ciderella' and 'Satrap' were derived from B32140, an unnamed Glenn Dale that was originally withdrawn in the late 1940's. Very few good examples of 'Cinderella' exist which may say something about the stabilitiy of that particular expression of the genetic material.
