Integrated brightness of Comet Tempel and a star in the same field of
view scaled up to match the comet brightness. Both are 10 frame
averages. Curves are not smooth due to noise in the images. The star
brightness should be constant, but decreases due to additional atmospheric
attenuation at decreasing elevation. This shows the comet brightened quickly
until about 6:15z, then more slowly to 6:30z, and then stayed fairly
constant through 7:00z.
