A planned burn as seen from the Mission of San Juan Bautista.

A bit alarming to see, but it was for reducing the fire fuels and hands on fire suppression training in a controlled environment.

We do it here too, and have already started prescribed burns to prepare for our summer and autumn when the grasses are dry and flammable. v
