Ruins of the Cook Bank Building
A city born in 1905 from the many miners and gold-seekers.
With the primary ore depleted, the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake and the financial panic of 1907,
the city declined in 1908. By 1920 the population was close to zero.
It became popular again as a tourist attraction and motion picture setting.
