Although there were ten races, I only shot three of them. The first at the final turn. The second from the starting gate and just before the finish line and the seventh at the turn. For the third through sixth I had dinner. From the time the horses are in shooting range of a 200mm lens to the time they pass you, you have about four seconds to shoot. There's 22 minutes between races here and I just didn't want to hang around waiting for the eighth race with an hour-a-half drive home....In total I shot about 16 seconds of racing, during which the mirror was up for about 4 seconds. It's fast!
