5th March

Another day of grey mist :(

I've been looking for these metal dominoes for some time now with a view to phographing them. I finally found them today so here's the photograph. It took several attempts and was really difficult as the dominoes are only 2.5cm high and 2mm thick - very hard to get to stand up!!

Good timing!

Excellent !

Very sophisticated composition.

I imagine the pain and hassle to set the dominoes in position at each attempt!

I have been doing a couple of motion photos and can relate to how difficult it was to time this. For what it's worth I think it's just one of those shots that could be any better. I'd love to see more of this!

Oh, almost forgot, a vote well earned

And definately worth the effort of trying to find them I say! This is brilliantly inventive, I love it!

I hope you love this shot. What a great capture and fairly unique for what it is. Very creative and exceptionally executed. My favorite is that the reflection shows no movement - to my mind that's what sets this photo apart.

Wesley Aston05-Mar-2004 17:29
excellent shot. I like how you don't see any movement in the reflection.
Guest 05-Mar-2004 17:09
I love taking slow sync flash pictures. Great feeling of motion you captured.

Nice motion, and I especially like your use of a reflective surface.

Clever, indeed! only half a second to produce this? Nicely done. Wonder if a tenth of a sec longer would have shown the last one falling? Bet it took a LOT of shots to get this . . . =) Pete

God bless the grey mist. I wish you all the fog you need, if the result is that :-)
Guest 05-Mar-2004 16:07
Excellent job. I'm sure you felt good when you saw this result after several attempts.
You have earned yourself a vote.

Great job here !
Guest 05-Mar-2004 15:52
Forgot to mention...love the reflection too. Great job of controlling the light here. I look at this and think of how many things that could go wrong, but did not.
Jill05-Mar-2004 15:51
Excellent!!
Guest 05-Mar-2004 15:47
Great take on falling dominos! The flash fires at the beginning of the .5 sec exposure so we see them standing and falling. Gets a kinetic vote.

Worth the extra effort. Nice shot.
