Bailey wasn’t thrilled today when the actual temperature today hit 97°F (or 36°C). This was a little hotter than what had been predicted.
But at least it was not quite as brutal as the extended, long heat wave that we suffered through in July: with actual tempts being dangerously over 100 (+40°C) & heat indexes between 115°F & 132°F (46°C-56°C). The humidity wasn’t as high today as it had been in July. It's quite hot now, but not nearly as bad as it has been. Thank goodness!!!
Between the last heat waves and this one, we had a "refreshing" 5-day recovery break (with tempts in the mid to upper 80's). Not that the upper 80's are cool... We’re now on Day #2 of this latest 6-day heat wave. Tomorrow, Labor Day (Monday), will be Day #3. Some relief will be on the way by late this week. After Thursday, the mid to upper 80's (about 30°C) are expected to return.

“Expect mid 90s again on Sunday. Monday’s heat could be up toward the 100-degree mark, but probably shouldn’t be any more than that.”

My Opinion
We’ve come a long way to where the “good news” now is that the temperature outside won’t be much more than 100°F (or 37.8°C).
Typically, temperatures here are in the lower 80s this time of year (around 28°C). But who knows what will now be considered the “new normal” going forward? Hopefully, days like today won't. However, some are saying that this Summer of 2023 will be the “coolest Summer” (temperature wise) for the rest of humanity’s lives. Guess we’ll see.
