Half Sisters
Holly (left) was just 2 pounds (and an ancestor) to our current 2 1/2 pound Bailey https://pbase.com/britestar/bailey who originally reminded me of Holly as a puppy. Although Holly was AKC show quality (and close to perfect in most every way) Holly was too tiny to be shown. Obviously, she was also never asked to have puppies. She was just so very tiny. Her role in life was to be loved and to be loved. However, she did "work" as a professional Hallmark and print ad model from time to time and really enjoyed that attention. https://pbase.com/britestar/holly_gallery
Kallie (right) at 4 pounds was Puffkin's mother. Puffkin was her only puppy. https://pbase.com/britestar/puffkin_gallery
Dog-show-career-wise Kallie was the #2 Nationally top ranked, AKC show winning Chihuahua for every one of her several yearlong conformation career. However, her important role came later in life by becoming a much-loved family member in our home. After she retired from the Conformation ring at 5, she was supposed to go on to an Obedience show career. However, Kallie did not enjoy the work; so, I didn't push her. I will only ask a dog to do something if it makes them happy. Kallie was not happy with being formally obedience trained. So, after Puffkin was born, she was allowed full retirement and lived a good life being nothing more than "just a pet" and a family member in our home. By that point, she only modeled for me which she did enjoy. https://pbase.com/britestar/kallie_gallery I didn't allow any outside photographer to use Kallie like I've often done with some of my other Chihuahuas over the years. Once dog show retired, Kallie deserved the security of staying close to only us: her family. That's what she wanted.
