Into Every Life 2020

A Little Rain Must Fall.

****************************
US COVID news
“Americans are moving around too much, coronavirus forecaster says… That’s not good, said Dr. Christopher Murray, director of the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington, which issues regular forecasts about the coronavirus pandemic. More movement predicts more spread of the virus. 'If you look at the mobility data collected from cell phones in many parts of the country, we're almost back to pre-Covid levels of mobility, so we're just not being as cautious as other people are in other countries,' Murray said."

Meanwhile, “Director of the Kansas City, Missouri Health Department Dr. Rex Archer recommends a voluntary shutdown for people in their 50s, 60s and 70s and those who have underlying medical conditions.” KSHB News

Based on the coronavirus situation worsening across the USA – rather than getting better – it seems like this voluntary Stay-at-Home shutdown is never going to end. While the 20 and 30 somethings are partying (as now seems to be the case most every weekend in our neighborhood), everyone over 50 or who has any sort of health condition (even minor or past ones)have more or less become prisoners in their own homes. That is if they want to do their absolute best to be spared the virus. We can’t even safely visit family or friends. Our ties have become cyber ties.

And to think that back when I was a kid, the idea of living a life of such social isolation was nothing more than a nightmare fantasy from a sci fi movie… Now, here we are. Six months ago, I would have never even remotely imagined this being possible. Still, here we are with no end in sight.

Today’s rain brought a drink of water to the marigolds.

A beautiful cheer-me-up flower, but rather distressing news w.r.t. the covid-19 situation in the USA and other hot-spots around the world.

A beautiful bloom.

I also second Fong's comment. After being in isolation for over 100 days, today I have to go to the chemist to collect a prescription, as they no longer deliver them. I am terrified!!....

I agree totally with Fong comment ! V.

It's very sad that your country's death toll is so high and that your leader often sidelines medical experts and blame its administration's shortcomings on others...
let's hope and pray that trial vaccines carried out over the world would be successful...
superb close up of your lovely blossom, looking so fresh and cheerful, attributes we long for in times like this...V
