"Silver, Black Beauty
In American Hearts
Also, Japanese Meat"
******************************************************************************
This was the only meal in Japan that I absolutely couldn't eat.
I have too many thoughts of horses as being loved domestic companions.
Nevertheless, raw horse meat is considered a tasty delicacy by many Japanese.
It is usually served as "meat sushi". Because I refuse to eat "raw" meat, my host ordered this very lightly seared... That's 2 to 3 seconds of a butane flame on each side... I let him have both pieces. It seemed raw to me. PLUS, it was still horse.

A quote concerning this particular cut of horse meat served at this restaurant:
“Gokujyo Akami”, a higher, and fattier, grade of red meat."
Perhaps it is. I'm no judge.
I refuse to eat any animal that I personally view as a pet.
However, Japan is not the only country in the world to eat horse meat.
