This young male could end up becoming a "problem bear".

On more than one occasion, the dominant youngster has brazenly stolen fish from off various fisherman's lines. He will also boldly swim up boats just to make deliberate eye contact with humans.

Frankly, it was an extremely eerie feeling when BoBo came even closer than in this shot & looked directly into my eyes. I do have some extremely close photos of his stare. Unfortunately, those images aren't sharp because of the extreme rocking as my guide quickly moved our boat away to safety.

Just the week before, BoBo had grabbed hold of one fishing boat's anchor with his forepaws and tried to reel the panicked people in. No one quite understood why he did this. Because he is wild & unpredictible, such behavior could end up being quite dangerous. When I "met" him, he was still at the stage of testing humans. However, the locals were afraid as to where this behavior will eventually take him. He's a beautiful and spirited, young animal.
Everyone hopes that his being so spirited doesn't end up getting a human hurt and him killed.
