I speak from first hand experience. Here's my "Big Bertha" http://www.pbase.com/britestar/image/56702811 who really does (since February 2006) have her own Tripod and Whimberley Head. My tripod was originally a Feisol, but is now a Gitzo because of better balance for carrying. Although Carbon Fiber tripods (both) may be lighter, this assembly is still HEAVY to carry around. Nevertheless, the extra effort is worth it!
