Look Homeward, Angel

Franklin Park - Boston

This image was inspired by my own passion for Victorian/Edwardian romance...the incredibly beautiful work of Alison Armstrong http://www.artportraits.biz/art ...by the evocative work of Grady Carter http://www.pbase.com/gradycarter ...by Andrea, who thinks of Picnic At Hanging Rock whenever she sees photos from this series...and by my best friend, the amazingly talented illustrator, Jack Pittman http://www.jackpittman.net .

I know it's the wrong era--but whenever I see this image--I think of Nimue, beckoning Merlin into the cave...I hear strains of "Follow Me" from Camelot...

ODDLY, THIS PHOTO REMINDS ME OF SOME PHOTOS TAKEN OF VANESSA BELL VERY NEAR THE TURN OF THE CENTURY. I THINK OF HER IN HER PAINTERS' GOWN. AT ANY RATE, THERE IS A MYSTERY TO IT. IT SEEMS TO BE A VOUYERISTIC , CANDID SHOT. THEN AGAIN, IT WOULD SEEM AS IF THIS WOMAN KNOWS THE PERSON RECORDING HER IMAGE. WELL DONE.

This image has mystery, making me wonder what she is thinking from the expression on her face. It certainly brings me in an era of long ago England with the manicured lawns on someone's estate. I think that the background needs to be blurred just a wee bit more, in particular the building, to mask the modern architecture. Composition and lighting is really nice!! Can't wait to see more!!
