'Yesterday we were paddling on the East coast North of Lybster to a place called Whalligoe Steps when we met a fishing boat. The fisherman was shouting and waving at us to come closer and it turned out he had run his keel onto some rocks and was desperate for someone to get him off the rocks. So we lashed ourselves to his railing and paddled hard. All this took some time and a lot of energy but we got the boat off the rocks and then hung about to see if the engine would start or whether he had knackered the gear (it did start). Met our man again hours later when we got the kayaks out in Lybster and he thanked us with a firm handshake. Not the kind of situation to get the camera out - the fisherman was seriously panicking about what damage might have happened, so here's my impression of what took place.'
