Brian and Martina at the burgess shale

Our visit to the iconic fossil location in the Canadian Rockies- the Burgess Shale. Here there are fossils of about 170 new species from the Cambrian period- thats about 505 Million years ago. These are some of the earliest fossils with hard shells and vertebrates. We took a guided trip here (the only way for the public to visit).
