Albi, on the Tarn river, was a major center of the Cathar heresy. The imposing brick cathedral was built as a reminder of the Catholic Church's power. Dedicated to St. Cecelia, the cathedral was built starting in the 13th century, but the interior was done in the late 15th and early 16th century by Italian painters from Bologna.
The interior photos were taken at a high ISO equivalent, often at low shutter speeds, without a tripod. I apologize for the consequent graininess and blurriness.
