Winterbirds & Landscape in Varanger 2009

This was my 6th visit to The Varanger peninsula and the third in winter. Firts part together with Jan Fohlman, after one week on my own.
This part of Norway is famous for its birds all year around. The Gulfstream keeps all oceanwater open even if temperatures may be as low as 25 degrees below Celius during first three months of the year. Some of the arctic species like King- and Stellers Eider spend a lot of time in the harbours and one of the best places is actually in the centre of Vadsö.
