Ship At Anchor In Fog

Mississippi River

The fog was so bad this morning that Gayle and I changed our plans and went to the river instead. Not knowing what we would be able to see, we saw an eagle, pelicans, egrets, tons of shore birds and ships at anchor. I have quite a few good ones but this one is the most eerie.

What a great shot! This reminds me of an oil painting that I saw years ago, of the same subject, I've always wanted to be able to capture that scene, but never have, fantastic!

I love the eerie feeling that the fog has given this... muted colours. I hope nothing hits it in the fog.

Breland, I just might have nightmares about this great shot. Brings back memories of the River shrouded in fog and my mother wondering if the ships were not going to see the beacon and run aground. Hope you didn't lose Go Home in the fog.
