M3 blinking.gif

This is an image of M3 taken from the Digitized Sky Survey (1950s) superimposed over my recent image of M3. It shows how stars have moved, some significantly, over that short 50 year span! (I counted 21 but there probably are more!)

Image alignment credited to Cloudy Nights member "amateur" and his star field matching project.

Hey... what an excellent way to show star motions. At least one star has moved a very great distance (bright star at the mid-lower left).
