Sixty-years doesn’t sound all that long, especially when you are talking about the age of a home. But the first time we walked into the Rodriguez ancestral house in Sariaya we knew we were looking at a piece of history. The doors, walls, and windows, they are truly from another time. The original occupants are only four generations away from us yet our children hardly recognized what they saw: toilets that don't flush themselves, kitchen stoves that burn charcoal, and ornately carved furniture few of us own today. Yet, beyond what we saw, there is a certain eeriness about an old home. Who lived here? What was their life really like? And could they have imagined future generations walking through their home while pondering their fate? Enjoy.
